Prabowo's Political Safari, Rewards Until Erick Thohir During Eid, Rocky Gerung: Why Ask For Blessing, Just Show Anti-Corruption

JAKARTA - A number of national political elites have taken advantage of the momentum of Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijriyah by conducting a political safari.

Prabowo Subianto, Ganjar Pranowo, and Erick Thohir were observed busy visiting the ranks of scholars in the country. Including undergoing stopover activities at many Islamic boarding schools.

Political observer Rocky Gerung assesses the activity to connect friendships ahead of the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) as an effort to seek votes as well as gain electability.

"This is a matter of the actual number because the number of Muslims is significant, so it must be persuaded, because yesterday's events in the election we know because political divisions continue now," he said on the Rocky Gerung Official YouTube account, Monday 9 May.

Those visited by the national political elite were not arbitrary figures. These figures were visited to pave the way for cooperation during the 2024 presidential election.

"Look for the initial signal, who really is the captive market," said Rocky.

However, Rocky considers that the relationship with political nuances is a village maneuver that is no longer feasible for candidates for the 2024 presidential election.

Rocky said that the Indonesian people are now more rational, ignoring the political approval of political figures in order to increase their electability.

What the people want, said Rocky, is the political elite's steadfast attitude towards inequality, so that there are ideas for finding solutions to the problems that occur. According to him, it is more important than just popularity.

"Why do you ask for all kinds of blessings, show that you have brains, have insight, are anti-corruption," said Rocky.

Rocky then mentioned the provisions regarding the presidential and vice presidential nomination threshold.

He said the minimum threshold for the right to nominate a pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the presidential election could redirect the Indonesian nation into division. The reason is that the presidential threshold closes the possibility of the emergence of many candidate pairs in the 2024 presidential election.

"This means that the 20 percent is the oligarch's mainstay. If he doesn't want to take the 0 percent threshold, it means the oligarchs are playing," he said.
