Police Monitoring, Kalikangkung Toll Road To Cikampek Towards Jakarta And Vice Versa Is Busy

JAKARTA - The National Police said that the flow of vehicle traffic on several toll roads leading to Jakarta was monitored smoothly, as of Monday, May 9. However, the one way and contraflow traffic engineering schemes are no longer being implemented.

"The results of monitoring the backflow of several toll roads through the SOT application are generally under control," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division Kombes Gatot Repi Handoko to reporters, Monday, May 9.

The condition of the smooth traffic flow on this toll road is based on the results of monitoring as of 09.00 WIB. Toll roads that are observed to be in crowded conditions include the Kalikangkung KM 414 toll road and the KM 188 Palilmanan toll road.

Then, the Cikampek toll road, both heading to Jakarta and vice versa, was also observed to be busy.

"The estimated travel time from the Malikangkung-Palimanan-Cikampek toll road is 5 hours 40 minutes," said Gatot.

For information, the Korlantas Polri has officially stopped the one-way, odd-even, and contraflow traffic engineering scheme on toll roads during the homecoming and return flow of Lebaran 2022, on May 9. The reason is that the traffic flow and the number of vehicles on the toll road have returned to normal.

"Analysis and evaluation of the results of observations through digital maps and CCTV as well as reports from members in the field that the traffic flow has decreased and is in its normal daily position," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo.

Then, another consideration for ending the three traffic engineering schemes is the safety of the drivers.

If the scheme is still applied, then the vehicle speed will automatically be higher. Thus, the potential for accidents will also increase.

"The vehicle will increase the speed which is possible for an accident that results in fatality of the victim," he said.
