JAKARTA - Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo emphasized that the return of vehicles for travelers from various regions will begin to occur on Friday, May 6, tomorrow.

Sambodo appealed to the public to avoid the Halim toll gate (GT) when the Lebaran backflow began.

"We estimate that the return flow for Eid this year will experience a significant increase from tomorrow compared to today," said Kombes Sambodo to reporters, Thursday, May 5.

Sambodo explained, there are approximately 1.2 million vehicles that will pass GT Halim as the entrance from the East to Jakarta. Vehicles will come from the direction of West Java and Central Java.

"At the time of the return flow, everything will end in Jakarta. That is why we Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya need to carry out traffic engineering and appeal to the public so that the return flow of the community is not hampered," he said.

Although traffic congestion is unavoidable, Sambodo said his party will manage the traffic jam in order to provide a sense of comfort to the community.

"We will manage congestion due to the unavoidable increase in traffic volume. But we will manage congestion so that there are no complaints from the public," he said.

Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya admitted that the oneway scheme that will be applied to the return of homecomers was studied from the homecoming flow before Eid yesterday.

"We have to do traffic engineering at the Halim toll gate, during oneway backflow. Because there are only 13 Halim toll gates, it is very limited to accommodate the swift backflow coming from lane A and lane B that enters Jakarta," he stressed. .
