Victim Drowning On Rawakalong Beach Palabuhan Ratu Still In Search Of The SAR Team

JAKARTA - The joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team is still searching for a seven-year-old child who disappeared from drowning on Rawakalong Beach, Palabuhanratu. The child, who is a tourist from Cicurug District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, reportedly drowned on Wednesday, May 4 at around 16:10 WIB.

"We, from the Sukabumi Polres Satpolairud together with other joint SAR teams, were still searching for Gibran, the tourist who had drowned," said Kasatpolairud Sukukabumi Police AKP Sukendar Tent in Sukabumi, Thursday.

In carrying out this SAR operation, his party divided several teams to conduct searches in the middle of the sea and land (beach shore), but so far there has been no sign of the victim's whereabouts, who are residents of Nyalindung Village/Cicurug District.

According to Tenda, the possibility of the victim being sucked in by underwater currents, the joint SAR team also expanded the search area in anticipation of the boy's body being carried by the current to the middle. In this SAR operation, personnel who participated in the search included Basarnas, the Sukabumi Regency Regional SAR Communication Forum (FKSD), elements of the TNI and volunteers.

He continued, for the current weather conditions are quite sunny, but the sea is high tide. In addition, tourists from various countries continue to come to Rawakalong Beach. Anticipating the reoccurrence of marine accidents that befell tourists, his party constantly urges them not to do activities, especially swimming in vulnerable locations.

"The joint SAR team is still trying to do a search and it is hoped that the victim can be found soon and we urge tourists who come to marine tourism objects to obey the signs and regulations when doing activities on the beach," he appealed.
