Eid Holiday, Bogor Police Record 90 Vehicles Entering The Peak Area

JAKARTA – This Lebaran holiday is really used by the community to travel. The Bogor Resort Police, West Java, even recorded that there were more than 90 thousand vehicles entering the Puncak route, Bogor Regency, during the Eid holiday season in 2022.

"During last Wednesday, May 4, there were around 40 thousand cars and 50 thousand motorcycles," said Bogor Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Iman Imanuddin in Bogor, Thursday, May 5, as quoted by Antara.

According to him, the accumulation of vehicles occurred at several points, such as Cisarua Market, to alternative routes around Pasir Muncang, then Megamendung, Simpang Taman Safari and Gunung Mas.

This traffic density has been predicted from before Eid Al-Fitr 1443 H. The reason is, the Puncak area is still a favorite tourist destination for people who want to spend vacation time.

Iman said that the increase in the volume of vehicles on the Puncak route began on Tuesday, May 3 or the second Eid.

"We have also alerted 175 personnel along the Puncak route which is divided into four security posts, namely in Gadog, Cimory, Cisarua and At-Ta'awun Mosque," said Iman.

He admitted that until now he still relies on traffic engineering in the form of a one-way or one-way system to reduce congestion.

"One way is still effective enough to drain the accumulation of vehicles. We have also coordinated with the Bogor City Police and Cianjur Police to anticipate the effects of one way," he said.
