COVID-19 Update As Of May 4th: 176 New Cases, 266 Recovered

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 69,766 specimens were examined with the result of 176 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,047,491 people and active cases have fallen by 106 to 6,845," said Ministry of Health data, Wednesday, May 4.

Today's recovered cases increased by 266 cases, bringing the total to 5,884,325 recovered people. Then, there were 16 positive confirmations that died and a total of 156,321 people.

The province with the highest new cases was DKI Jakarta with 62 cases and a total of 1,248,005 cases. Followed by Banten with 26 new cases with a total of 292,427 cases. West Java has 26 new cases and a total of 1,105,502 cases. Then, East Java with 15 new cases and a total of 575,585 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 102 recovered cases. Followed by Bali with an additional 45 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 28 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 18 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 95,809,698.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 0.71 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 1,437 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

So far, 199,346,528 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 165,425,225 people have received the second dose of vaccination. While the third dose of vaccination was 40,372,525. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
