West Manggarai NTT Weather Today, Potentially Heavy Rain And Lightning

LABUAN BAJO - Nine of the 12 sub-districts in West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara have the potential to experience moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds of short duration up to the next week according to the BMKG forecast for the Komodo Meteorological Station of West Manggarai.

"Nine sub-districts in West Manggarai have the potential to rain with lightning until May 9, 2022," said Head of the West Manggarai Komodo Meteorological Station, Sti Nenotek in Labuan Bajo, Wednesday.

The nine sub-districts are Macang girlfriend, girlfriend, Ndoso, Welak, Kuwus, West Kuwus, Boleng, Komodo, and Mbeliling.

Sti explained, the position of the Madden Julian Oscillation (MJO) or intra-seasonal activity that occurs in the tropics is in Quadrant 4 and contributes to the process of forming rain clouds in Indonesia, including West Manggarai Regency.

Therefore, the Meteorological Station provides early warnings for extreme weather during this transitional season. Not only rain accompanied by lightning, the public also needs to be aware of various other impacts such as tornadoes and lightning strikes. This is to make it easier for people to anticipate activities in the midst of extreme weather.

Sti again reminded the public, especially in the nine sub-districts, to be careful when they want to move. He appealed to the public to anticipate fallen trees and billboards falling when the weather was extreme.
