28 Inmates Of Class IIB Wates Kulon Progo Rutan Get Eid Remission

KULON PROGO - A total of 28 residents assisted by the Class IIB Wates State Detention Center in Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, received remissions or reduced detention periods on Eid 2022.

The Head of Class IIB Detention Center Wates Deny Fajariyanto said that the granting of this remission was in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number: PAS-609.PK.05.04 of 2022 concerning the Granting of Special Remission (RK) Eid 1443 Hijri in 2022.

This relief for the inmates at the Class IIB Wates Rutan is granted in accordance with the provisions of Law Number 12 of 1995 concerning Adjustments, Government Regulation Number 32 of 1999 concerning Requirements and Procedures for the Implementation of the Rights of Correctional Inmates (WBP) which has been amended by Government Regulation Number 99 of 1999. 2012 and Presidential Decree No. 174 of 1999 concerning Reduction of Detention Period.

"This remission is given to 28 people with details of 16 inmates who get 15 days remission and 12 inmates who get remission for 1 month. However, two inmates have been freed through assimilation at home," said Deny in Kulon Progo, Antara , Tuesday, May 3.

The recipient of this remission was previously involved in various cases and the average crimes were theft and health. These inmates have behaved well while being fostered in the detention center.

Therefore, he said, they deserved to receive a special remission on Eid 1443 Hijri.

"There is no remission for perpetrators of extraordinary crimes," he said.

In addition, this year, none of the inmates received Special Remission II or was declared free, all of them received special remission I with a deduction of detention between 15 days and 1 month.

Deny hopes that the inmates who have received remissions can still behave well. For inmates who do not get remission this time, continue to follow the coaching program properly and respect the officers while in detention.

Until now, the number of inmates of the Class IIB Wates Rutan is 78 people. After the granting of this remission, the activity will be continued with online visits via WhatsApp video calls.

"The Class IIB Wates Prison will continue to improve services and change the correctional paradigm to be faster and more targeted by implementing information technology-based services," he said.
