Tourists From Jakarta Are Fooled By Labuan Bajo Tourism Agents

LABUAN BAJO - A tourist from Jakarta, Frans Setiawan, was scammed by the Komodo Experience travel agent in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, NTT.

"Hopefully there will be no more victims, the perpetrators will be arrested, and the money for the losses will be returned," said Frans, quoted by Antara, Monday, May 2.

Frans and 16 other family members from Jakarta have been tricked by a travel agent (travel agent) Komodo Experience in Labuan Bajo for Rp.46,300,000.

He has reported the fraud incident to the West Manggarai Police with the number STTLP/106/IV/2022/NTT/Res Mabar.

The unfortunate fate was experienced by one family after paying the cost of a four-day and three-night tour last Friday to Rizky Saputra who claimed to be the Komodo Experience party.

Frans believes in Rizky because five years ago he had taken a trip to Labuan Bajo using the services of Rizky and his parents with satisfactory results.

Unexpectedly, after paying the travel expenses, the travel agent did not visit them. Various reasons were given by the perpetrators. The travel agent did not pick up the family group who would go on a tour until Saturday.

As a result of this condition, Frans became suspicious and asked the hotel to contact the Lamborajo ship which he knew was their tour boat.

However, he was surprised by the story from the ship's side, that he and his family were not on the guest list on the ship, and Rizky had been a fugitive for a long time because he often deceived tourists.

Frans is now waiting for the police to handle the fraud case he experienced. He wants the perpetrators to be caught immediately and the money can be returned.

He also hopes that there will be no more cases of fraud by travel agents in Labuan Bajo as he experienced some time ago.
