BMKG: South Sumatra Expects Moderate To Heavy Rain

PALEMBANG - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of South Sumatra Province predicts the weather in the local area will experience moderate to heavy rain, Wednesday, April 27.

In the morning, the weather is forecasted to be cloudy with the potential for light rain in the districts of Banyuasin, Musi Banyuasin and Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI).

During the afternoon and into the afternoon, the weather is forecasted to be cloudy with the potential for moderate rain in the districts of Lahat, Empat Lawang, Musi Rawas, Lubuk Linggau, Muara Enim, Musi Rawas Utara and Musi Banyuasin.

Meanwhile, the potential for light rain in the afternoon until the afternoon is in the areas of Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir (PALI), Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU), South OKU, Ogan Ilir and Prabumulih.

In the evening, the weather is forecasted to be cloudy, with the potential for moderate to heavy rain in the areas of Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI), East OKU, Ogan Ilir, Palembang, Muara Enim, Banyuasin and Musi Banyuasin.

Meanwhile, the potential for light rain is in the OKU, South OKU, Lahat, Musi Rawas and Empat Lawang areas.

In the early hours of the morning, the weather is forecast to be cloudy throughout South Sumatra, covering 17 regencies/cities. The air temperature in the low-lying areas of South Sumatra around Palembang, Banyuasin, Musi Banyuasin, Ogan Ilir and OKI ranges from 24-33 °C, humidity 60 percent - 97 percent .

The air temperature in the highlands of South Sumatra around Pagar Alam, Empat Lawang, Lubuk Linggau, Lahat and South OKU ranges from 21 to 32 °C, humidity is 65 percent - 100 percent.

The wind moves from the West – Northeast at a speed of 5 – 25 km/hour.

The height of the sea waves in the northern part of the Bangka Strait, in the southern part of the Bangka Strait is 0.1 - 0.5 meters, and the Gelasa Strait is 0.5 - 1.25 meters. The weather is forecasted with light rain and wind direction from Southeast - Northwest at a speed of 4 - 34 km/hour.

Based on the weather forecast, the South Sumatra BMKG issued an early warning to be aware of the potential for moderate to heavy rain which can be accompanied by lightning/lightning and strong winds of short duration from day to night.

The regions include OIC, East OKU, Musi Banyuasin, Banyuasin, Ogan Ilir, Musi Rawas, Muara Enim and Palembang. This was reported by Antara.
