Alluding To High School Allotments In Selection For Indonesian Air Force Cadets, General Andika Affirms All High School Graduates Have The Right To Become Officers

JAKARTA - The TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa gave instructions on the mechanism for accepting prospective cadets and non-commissioned officers at the Air Force Academy (AAU). General Andika emphasized that all high school graduates have the right to become Indonesian Air Force (AU) officers.

General Andika said that candidates for Indonesian Air Force officers who came from the scholarship route were not a top priority. He explained that the main priority for selecting Indonesian Air Force officers was the selection value of each candidate for cadets and non-commissioned officers.

This was conveyed by General Andika to the Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo recently.

"So the scholarship program doesn't then get a toll road, not at all. Don't let the scholarships get priority, no, no, no, we have to be fair. Remember those who can enter the TNI are Indonesian citizens, all Indonesian citizens, without exception," he said, quoted from General TNI Andika Perkasa's YouTube account, Monday, April 25.

General Andika conveyed that all the selection processes for TNI AU cadets were in accordance with the requirements and registration procedures. As for graduation, it is viewed from the assessment of the selection results.

"Included at the AAU level later, namely, where does the source come from. There is nothing special. From SMA A, B, and C there is none. We only see the results of the selection, period!" he said.

He then mentioned the quota for certain high school graduates in the selection of Indonesian Air Force cadets. According to him, all high school graduates in Indonesia are entitled to the opportunity to become Indonesian Air Force officers without any difference in the selection mechanism to become cadets.

General Andika emphasized that there is no commitment such as the high school quota in accepting the TNI AU cadets and non-commissioned officers in 2022. All prospective registrants from various high schools have the same opportunity and right to take part in the selection.

"There is no longer, for example, looking at the commitment, 'oo how much is the quota from SMA A', there is no. Everyone has the right to become an Indonesian Air Force officer, through the AAU route. All high school graduates have the same rights, the same opportunities," he said.

Before giving directions regarding the mechanism for accepting candidates for cadets and non-commissioned officers in the AAU, General Andika first received a report from the KSAU regarding the activities carried out by the Air Force.
