JAKARTA - The Head of the Banjarmasin Police, Kombes Pol Rachmat Hendrawan, performed prayers with students in the middle of a demonstration against the Omnibus Law of the Work Creation Act (Ciptaker) in front of the South Kalimantan DPRD, Thursday, October 8.

The midday prayers in congregation became a moment of togetherness between the officials and the students in the middle of conveying aspirations to the people's representatives at "Rumah Banjar".

"Alhamdulilah, today's action was peaceful. Everything is under control," said Rachmat.

The mass of students was received by the Head of South Kalimantan DPRD H Supian HK. The people's representatives agreed to accept all the demands of the students and promised to convey them to the center.

For this reason, it is hoped that students can disperse in an orderly manner after submitting their aspirations.

"We have also coordinated with the Vice Chancellor III of ULM who asked students to disperse in an orderly manner according to the time limit set in the demo rules," he said.

Previously, the Head of South Kalimantan Regional Police, Inspector General Pol Nico Afinta, confirmed that no member was carrying a weapon to secure the student demonstration in Banjarmasin today.

He ordered the members to put forward a humanist attitude to cool the atmosphere of student action so that it would continue peacefully.
