PURBALINGGA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo found the road in a damaged condition when checking alternative routes for the 2022 Lebaran homecoming on the Kembangan-Linggamas section. This road is the border between Banyumas and Purbalingga Regencies.

The condition of the road on the alternative route looks quite damaged with some parts of the road surface being uneven and bumpy, thereby reducing the comfort and safety of the people passing by.

Seeing this, Ganjar then asked the residents and several officers who accompanied him to check the homecoming route. The number one person in Central Java received information that the road damage was caused by an overloaded truck carrying excavation C.

"This is actually an alternative route that we have prepared for Lebaran travelers, usually during Eid, many homecomers pass this road to travel from Banjarnegara to Banyumas," said Ganjar at the location, Antara, Friday, April 22.

By passing this route, people cut time and distance quite a bit because they don't go through the city.

The PDI-P politician will check whether excavation C that caused the damaged road is legal or illegal and asks the local government to check and enforce the applicable regulations.

"We'll check later, whether excavation C is legal or not, my regional friends also ask to be checked and please pay attention to the rules. If it's damaged like this, it's the people who are harmed because they can't enjoy the bumpy road," he said.

In addition to the alternative route, the damaged road is an access to Jenderal Besar Sudirman Airport so that when the airport is re-operated, that road will be used.

"This is the route to the airport, but it is also commonly used for Lebaran homecoming, so I ask for it to be repaired immediately, arranged so as not to endanger it," he said.

Ganjar said the damaged roads were registered as district roads, so the authority to repair them rests with the district government.

"This is a district road, I asked for it from the PU. Later, it will be checked at least for not having potholes, I ask for the holes to be closed so that they are properly prepared ahead of Eid," said Ganjar.
