File Declared Complete, Former Mayor Of Banjar Will Be Tried Soon

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the former Mayor of Banjar, West Java, Herman Sutrisno, would soon undergo trial. The trial will be conducted after the investigation team has handed over the suspect and evidence to the team of public prosecutors (JPU).

Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Ali Fikri said the trial would be held because the files in the alleged bribery case against Herman had been declared complete.

"Based on the overall case file research, both the formal and material requirements have been declared complete by the prosecutor's team," Ali told reporters, Friday, April 22.

Ali said the detention of Herman would continue for the next 20 days until May 10. He will be detained at the KPK Rutan in the Merah Putih building.

Not only that, the KPK prosecutor will also immediately compile a case file complete with an indictment. "And transferred to the Corruption Court by the prosecutor team within 14 working days," he said.

Herman's trial will be held at the Corruption Court at the Bandung District Court.

As previously reported, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named the Mayor of Banjar City for the 2003-2008 and 2008-2013 periods, Herman Sutrisno, together with the Director of CV Prima, Rahmat Wardi, as suspects for alleged corruption in infrastructure work projects at the Banjar City Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing, and Settlement Areas Office in 2008- 2013 and the alleged receipt of gratuities.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the case that ensnared the two people began with a public report, which was then carried out by the KPK to collect data and information.

For his actions, Rahmat Wardi is suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter (a) or letter (b) or Article 13 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001.

Meanwhile, Herman Sutrisno is suspected of violating Article 12 letter (a) or letter (b) or Article 11 and Article 12B of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001.
