SUMSEL - A total of 3,578 joint officers were deployed in South Sumatra (Sumsel) to secure the 2022 Eid homecoming flow.

Deputy Governor of South Sumatra Mawardi Yahya said the thousands of joint officers were the 2022 Ketupat Musi Operation Team.

They each consist of 1,783 police officers, 358 TNI officers, and 1,437 Satpol PP personnel, the National Search and Rescue Agency, the Transportation Service and the Health Service.

"The Ketupat Musi operation is prepared according to government policy, hopefully everything will run smoothly from pre to post-holiday," Mawardi said after the joint meeting for the 2022 Ketupat Musi Operation at the Pakri Palembang Complex, Friday, April 22.

The South Sumatran Police Chief Inspector General Toni Harmanto said the joint officers from the Ketupat Musi Operation had started their duty today, and were then actively alerted at 87 homecoming posts, 28 April-9 May 2022.

The post consists of 51 security posts, 21 service posts, and 15 integrated posts with COVID-19 vaccination health service outlets.

Each post is spread across several areas within the city of Palembang and the area around the Sumatra Cross Road (east-central part) and toll roads.

"The duties of each apparatus are divided proportionally according to the needs and conditions of their respective posts, and are also deployed to carry out routine patrols to review road sections," he said, accompanied by the Director of Traffic and Traffic of the South Sumatra Police, Kombes Pol M Pratama Adhyasastra.

He ensured that there would be no traffic blocking during the implementation of this year's homecoming security, to provide comfort for travelers as directed by the central government.

It's just that, he said, health protocol checks will still be carried out at the vehicle stop center (rest area), so as not to interfere with the smooth flow of traffic.

"I think that with this amount of power, we can answer issues that may occur during homecoming security, such as traffic jams, the threat of accidents, or the health of drivers and the like," he said.
