BIAK - The Papuan Regional Police Chief (Kapolda) Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri emphasized that the police in Papua are ready to provide security guarantees for the Eid 1443 Hijri prayer.

"Please Muslims hold the Eid prayer 1443 Hijri in their respective places while still observing health protocols," said the Chief of the Police, Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri, in Biak, as reported by Antara, Friday, April 22.

Kapolda Inspector General Fakhiri admitted that currently the government has allowed the implementation of Eid prayers, but still maintain the procedures such as wearing masks, washing hands and paying attention to the health of the surrounding environment.

Inspector General Fakhiri stated that the Eid prayer is one of a series of religious holiday activities for Muslims, so that the police will assist the security so that it can be smooth, safe and conducive.

Regarding the Eid homecoming travel rules issued by the Government, according to the Regional Police Chief Inspector General Fakhiri, people in Papua will go home so that they continue to follow the rules because they are still in the atmosphere of the COVID-19 pandemic.
