PARIGI - The Office of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, targets that in the next three days approximately 5,000 special doses of booster vaccination can be realized.

"This activity involves 19 Religious Affairs Offices (KUA) in 23 sub-districts in Parigi Moutong and in the next three days 5,000 people are sought to be served," said Head of the Office of the Ministry of Religion of Parigi Moutong Regency, Muslimin while monitoring vaccination activities in Parigi, Antara, Thursday, April 21. .

He explained, such as the fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) which allows vaccination in the fasting month, then its implementation is carried out from the morning and continued at night after the Isha and Tarawih prayers are finished.

In this activity as an effort to realize 1 million booster vaccinations by cooperating with the Nahdatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU), and the National Police, it will be held simultaneously on 21-23 April 2022 in each region.

"The booster vaccination is prioritized for the elderly (elderly) who have received two vaccines, but it is possible that community involvement with doses one and two will still be served," said Muslimin.

In addition to increasing the body's immunity, booster vaccination is also one of the requirements for travel during the Lebaran homecoming period, so that people are quite enthusiastic about attending and participating.

Therefore, with a target of 5,000 people for booster vaccinations, it is hoped that COVID-19 will no longer be a threat, especially for Muslims facing the momentum of Eid.

"Each KUA and Polsek carry out the same activities, with the hope that later achievements will exceed the target," said Muslimin.

Deputy Regent of Parigi Moutong Badrun Nggai said that the involvement of the parties to boost vaccination really helps the government to catch up on achievements.

Currently, Parigi Moutong's third dose of vaccination is still low at 1.8 percent, then the first dose is at 83.4 percent, the second dose is 49.4 percent of the total 323,117 people.

"To catch up with the vaccination target requires collaboration from all parties so that group immunity is quickly formed," said Badrun.
