JAKARTA - Vice President (Wapres) Ma'ruf Amin asked the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) to form a special team to review the policies that have been implemented in Papua.

The team is tasked with ensuring that the steps taken by the Papua Provincial Government bring significant changes in terms of security to progress in Papua.

"The vice president's direction is that we form a special review team related to Papua to ensure the change in approach being carried out by the Papua Provincial Government will bring significant changes, both for Papuan security and the welfare of the Papuan people," said Lemhannas RI Governor Andi Widjajanto after meeting the vice president in Jakarta, Tuesday 19 April.

Andi said that Lemhannas would soon conduct a study on Papua as directed by the Vice President. The study will then be reported to the Vice President's Office Team.

On that occasion Andi also reported to the Vice President about the tasks that must be carried out at Lemhannas, namely regarding the blue economy, green economy, digital transformation, IKN defense, and consolidation of democracy.

He said the results of the study would be discussed more deeply with the Vice President's Office Team.
