Abdul Gafur Mas'ud Allegedly Intervention In The Auction Process To Determination Of Project Winners In PPU District

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the Regent of North Penajam Paser (PPU) Abdul Gafur Mas'ud has intervened in the implementation of the project auction in his area. This allegation was investigated by examining five witnesses, including former Plt. Head of PUPR Office of PPU Regency in 2019, Tohar.

The five witnesses were questioned at the Mako Brimob Office of the East Kalimantan Police on Monday, April 18 yesterday. Apart from Tohar, those who were examined as witnesses were expert staff from the Regent, Puguh Sumitro and three private parties, Eka Sugianto, Suwondo, and the Sultan.

From that examination, investigators are looking into the alleged direct determination and monitoring of the auction process by Abdul Gafur.

"Witnesses were present and confirmed, among others, related to the implementation of various projects at the PPU Regency Government where it is suspected that the determination of the winner until the auction process was monitored directly by the suspect AGM," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Sector Ali Fikri to reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, April 19. .

In addition, these witnesses were also confirmed regarding the flow of money into Abdul Gafur's pocket. Ali said, this money allegedly came from the value of projects that will be carried out by private parties.

"It is also suspected that there was a flow of money from the value of the project to be handed over to the suspect AGM," he said.

In addition, the KPK also examined honorary staff in North Penajam Paser Regency, Sri Aryanti and civil servants at the PPU Transportation Service. Ali said the two witnesses were presented by Abdul Gafur to lighten the suspicion against him.

"These two witnesses are witnesses presented by Tsk AGM as defense witnesses," Ali explained.

Previously, the KPK named Abdul Gafur as a suspect in receiving bribes related to the procurement of goods and services as well as permits.

Apart from Gafur, the anti-corruption commission also appointed the Acting Secretary of the North Penajam Paser Regency, Mulyadi; Head of Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning of North Penajam Paser Regency Edi Hasmoro; Head of the North Penajam Paser District Education, Youth, and Sports Office, Jusman; and the General Treasurer of the Balikpapan Democratic Party DPC, Nur Afifah Balqis as a bribe recipient.

Meanwhile, as a suspect for giving bribes, the KPK has named a private party named Achmad Zudi.

Their determination was initiated from a hand-catching operation (OTT) which was held on Wednesday, January 12 in two locations, namely Jakarta and North Kalimantan. From the results of the action, the KPK also confiscated Rp1 billion and Rp447 million in Balqis's account.
