COVID-19 Update As Of April 16: 602 New Cases, Healing Increases To 2,768

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 98,459 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 602 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,039,266 and active cases have fallen by 2,190 to 60,475," said Health Ministry data, Saturday, April 16.

Today's recovered cases have increased by 2,768 people, bringing the total to 5,822,947 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 24 cases and a total of 155,844 people.

The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 193 cases and a total of 1,245,458 cases. Followed by West Java which has 99 new cases with a total of 1,103,963 cases. Banten has 61 new cases and a total of 291,708 cases. Central Java has 53 new cases and a total of 626,312 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 599 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an additional 567 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 394 recovered cases, and DI Yogyakarta with an additional 260 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 93,931,526.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 1.25 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 2,555 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently there are 198,100,0009 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 162,569,631 the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 30,349,103. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
