TANJUNGPINANG - The Bukit Bestari Sector Police Team, Tanjungpinang Police, Riau Islands Police (Kepri) shot a suspect with the initials RA (28) who was involved in the burglary case of a clothing boutique shop. The suspect was shot for trying to escape when officers tried to arrest him.

"After the investigation, it was found that the victim was in Batam, and was arrested," said Bukit Bestari Police Chief Kompol Adi as quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 14.

From the results of the investigation and investigation, he said, the loss suffered by the victim as a result of this incident was around Rp. 35 million.

Police secured evidence of motorbikes, iron scissors used by the perpetrators to break into shop houses, clothes, decorative lights, and several home accessories.

"The suspect RA has committed several thefts. In fact, he is a recidivist in the robbery case in the jurisdiction of the Bukit Bestari Police," said the police chief.

Kompol Adi said that in addition to stealing from a clothing boutique shop, suspect RA in March 2022 also stole from a drug store in the West Tanjungpinang area with another suspect with the initials IA.

Suspect IA has also been arrested and is undergoing investigation at the Tanjungpinang Barat Police.

"The police are currently investigating the possibility of another crime scene (TKP)," he said.

As a result of his actions, the two perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with the threat of imprisonment for seven years.
