Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road Construction Reaches 95 Percent

PEKANBARU - Riau Governor Syamsuar said the physical construction of the 40 km Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road has now reached 95 percent or is entering the finishing stage.

"The progress of the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road is 95 percent. According to a report by PT Hutama Karya, on April 20, 2022, the Ministry of Public Works of the Republic of Indonesia will conduct a check on the readiness of this freeway," said Riau Governor Syamsuar, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 13.

Syamsuar is optimistic that five days before Idul Fitri 1443 Hijri, the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road is ready to be inaugurated to reduce congestion and reduce traffic accidents.

The existence of this freeway will have an impact on the smoothness of transportation, the flow of goods and passengers traffic and economic improvement.

In addition, this toll road supports community homecoming activities in 2022, especially from the direction of Pekanbaru-Sumbar and Pekanbaru-Kampar.

"The existence of this road is believed to also shorten the distance from Pekanbaru to Bangkinang by only half an hour from the previous one," he said.

Meanwhile, the Pekanbaru - Bangkinang Toll Road Project Director, Bambang Eko, stated that the construction of the Pekanbaru - Bangkinang toll road is targeted for completion on April 20, 2022.

Currently, he said, only toll road construction remains on the access road to the national road, to be precise in front of the State Police School (SPN) building in Bangkinang.

"It's just a matter of completing the physical work on the road leading to the national road access in front of the SPN. The target is April 15 to April 20, 2022," he said.

In addition, the road hardening (rigid) work is more than 200 meters long and the asphalting of the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road is about 400 meters.
