It Turns Out, When The Pejompongan Postal Police Was Burned, There Were Still Police In It, But They Went To Find Help

JAKARTA - When a mass group of rioters came to the Pejompongan police post (Pospol), on Jalan Pejompongan Raya, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, on Monday, April 11, night, it turned out that there were still members of the police on duty.

"There are members of the police (within the Pospol), because there are so many (masses) they ask for reinforcements. When attacked (by the masses), he secures himself, not flees, because of the large number of people at that time," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police AKBP Wisnu Wardana to VOI, Tuesday 11 April, evening.

AKBP Wisnu explained the beginning of the Pejompongan Police Post burning incident. The incident occurred after the dispersal of the mass demonstration in front of the DPR RI Building.

"Then they moved towards Slipi, Pejompongan," he said.

Then, at that location they set fire to the Pospol which was right in front of the BNI Tower.

The police, who received the information, immediately went after the perpetrators after the Pejompongan Police Post was set on fire.

"After the incident, we moved quickly when we learned that the Pejompongan post was on fire," he said.

Police officers immediately came to the crime scene (TKP), and several people suspected of being the perpetrators were arrested.

"The results of the examination, we determine (they) as the perpetrators of the arson," he explained. The three suspects had the initials AF (17), RS (22) and RE (19). They are a group from Bekasi City.

As a result of his actions, the three suspects were charged with Article 187 of the Criminal Code regarding the burning of Jo 170 of the Criminal Code with the threat of imprisonment for 5 years.
