Update On COVID-19 As Of October 4: New Cases Of 3,992, Total Cases Of Translucent 303,498

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 36,743 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 3,992 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 303,498 people," he was quoted as saying from data from the Ministry of Health, Sunday, October 4.

Today's cases increased by 3,401, so that a total of 228,453 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 96 people and a total of 11,151 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1,398 new cases and a total of 78,850 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by Central Java which has 314 new cases with a total of 23,764 cases. West Sumatra has 255 new cases and a total of 7,127 cases. East Java has 249 new cases and a total of 44,898 cases. Then, West Java has 248 new cases and a total of 23,899 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,032 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 316 cases recovered, East Kalimantan with an additional 230 cases recovered, and Riau with an additional 210 cases recovered.

Then, there is 1 province that reported no new cases today. The province is North Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined reached 3,488,141. In detail, 3,433,984 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 54,157 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.5 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was 139,401 people. At present, 497 districts / cities from 34 provinces have had COVID-19 cases.
