Ahead Of The Political Year, KPK Cooperates With Political Parties To Hold A Smart Political Program With Integrity

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) cooperates with political parties in the country to prevent corruption. This step is carried out by implementing a program entitled Smart and Integrity Political Education.

"Today we start with the kick-off of Smart and Integrity Political Education. We do this activity because we see it and we make this a milestone in facing and approaching the activities of the political year, the year 2024 which will come," said Firli at a press conference at the ACLC Building. KPK, Jalan Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Tuesday, April 12.

In addition to approaching the political year, Firli said, preventive activities within political parties need to be carried out because this institution is a place for people to channel their aspirations and support democracy.

"Political parties also determine the future of the nation, both from the procedure for legislative elections, presidential elections, DPD elections, including the election of regents, mayors and governors. All through political parties," said the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK.

"Next, the party also plays an important role because it seems to this day there is no regulation that can be made without, whether it is an initiative from legislative colleagues or for legislative purposes. This means that it is also heavily influenced by political parties," added Firli.

By looking at these various conditions, the KPK then moved to make improvements to the system. The trick is to conduct anti-corruption education so that it is hoped that the integrity of the arti can be maintained.

Moreover, the anti-corruption commission with political parties actually has a passion, namely realizing the goals of the state.

"Our political parties must maintain their integrity in one way, we must improve all regulations related to political parties. Of course we submit suggestions and studies," said Firli. "Especially agents of change to build an anti-corruption culture so that we hope that Indonesia is truly free from corruption," he said.

The prevention activities will be followed by all parties which are divided into 21 groups. Later, on May 18, the KPK will invite the general chairman, secretary general, and general treasurer of political parties to attend the KPK in person.

"Besides that, the follow-up will also be carried out for all political parties. The method is the same in a hybrid way, there is at the KPK and there is also an online follow-up," he said.

"I think the purpose of this activity is that we want to free our country from corrupt practices and we develop the concept of an orchestration to eradicate corruption," said Firli.
