JAKARTA - Member of the DPR from the PDIP faction, Charles Honoris, highlighted the beating of social media activists and University of Indonesia lecturer Ade Armando in front of the DPR building.

He asked the police to immediately arrest the perpetrators. Because, his face is clearly visible in the video footage that is widely circulated in the community. "Therefore, there is no reason for the police not to immediately investigate the violent case and arrest the perpetrators," said Charles, Monday, April 11.

Based on this evidence, according to the member of Commission I of the DPR, the police should be able to arrest the perpetrators of the beatings today.

"I think within 24 hours the police should be able to apprehend the perpetrators of this violence one by one," continued Charles.

Charles said that swift legal action against Ade's persecutors would provide a deterrent effect for irresponsible perpetrators of violence. At the same time, it will prove that the state exists to protect every citizen from all forms of violence.

"The perpetrators of violence who brutally persecuted Ade Armando must be arrested and accept legal consequences for their actions. Don't let anyone escape," said Charles.

Suspected Beater Ade Armando Arrested

Police have arrested a number of suspected perpetrators of beating social media activist Ade Armando. Intensive examination is still being carried out.

"We have detained several people," said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters, Monday, April 11.

However, Zulpan did not specify the number of suspected perpetrators who had been arrested. According to him, the investigation is still in progress to prove their involvement in the beatings.

Zulpan also said that during the demonstration, it was not only Ade Armando who experienced acts of violence. Several members of the Police were also targeted by the mass of action.
