Polda Metro Ready To Secure Student Demonstration On April 11th

JAKARTA - The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Endra Zulpan stated that his party had received an application for demonstration activities from the All-Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM SI) led by Kharudin.

This demonstration will be held at the State Palace on April 11, tomorrow with a number of demands. One of them asked President Joko Widodo to step down.

"Polda Metro Jaya is ready to secure tomorrow's activities. We urge the general public to continue to carry out activities as usual," said Kombes Zulpan to reporters, Sunday, April 10.

Zulpan appealed to students participating in the demonstration from BEM SI to conduct it in an orderly and peaceful manner and not be anarchic.

"This is the month of Ramadan, we urge all those who carry out activities to also respect other people who worship," he said. When asked about the readiness of police personnel, Zulpan was reluctant to reveal it to the media crew.

"Anyway, Polda Metro Jaya is ready to secure it. We will deploy forces comparable to those carrying out activities," he said.

Previously, BEM SI would hold a demonstration at the Merdeka Palace on Monday, April 11, tomorrow. The action demanded injustice and asked President Jokowi to step down.
