MEDAN - Member of Commission I DPRD Medan City, North Sumatra Edi Syahputra asked law enforcement officials to thoroughly investigate allegations of buying and selling positions within the Medan City Government.

"We really appreciate the brother of the Mayor of Medan who disabled Zain Noval as the Head of the Medan City BKD and PSDM because he was suspected of being involved in buying and selling positions," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 7.

This statement was made following the deactivation of the Head of the Regional Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKD and PSDM) Zain Noval due to having to undergo an examination by the Medan City Inspectorate starting Thursday (31/3).

The allegation of buying and selling positions within the Medan City Government, he continued, was not enough just to take disciplinary action from the Medan City Inspectorate, especially for ASN with the status of echelon II officials.

However, this alleged case should be brought to justice. "This is to provide a deterrent effect for other officials. But if the perpetrators of extortion (illegal levies), both the head of the environment, the village head, and the OPD, it is enough to just remove them," said Edi.

For this reason, law enforcement officers, both police and prosecutors, can explore the case to support the policy of Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution in eradicating extortion within the Medan City Government.

"It is highly suspected that many ASN individuals were involved in gratification. Maybe with the lure of office, but it did not materialize. This must be investigated thoroughly because it injures the clean government," said the politician from the National Mandate Party.

Previously, the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution admitted that he had disabled Zain Noval from the position of Head of the BKD and PSDM for the City of Medan regarding the alleged sale and purchase of positions within the Medan City Government.

"That (Zain Noval) asked the Inspectorate. I have conveyed that many times. If there is any indication, we will submit it to the Inspectorate," he said at Medan City Hall, Tuesday (5/4).

Zain Noval has been temporarily disabled from his position as Head of BKD and PSDM Medan City as of Thursday (31/3).
