Losses Due To Trucks Transporting Staples Free Falling At Aceh Barat Port Are Borne By The Insurance Party

ACEH - PT Transportation of Rivers, Lakes and Ferries (ASDP) Indonesia Ferry (Persero) stated that the fall of a truck carrying basic goods and grocery items at the Meulaboh Ferry Port, Aceh Barat Regency, was fully borne by the insurance company.

"The accident of the truck falling into the sea at the Meulaboh Port is borne by PT Jasa Raharja Putra," said General Manager of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry Singkil Aceh Branch, Yeffri Hendri when contacted from Meulaboh, Antara, Thursday, April 7.

As for the fatalities, passengers or truck drivers who experience the accident, the insurance is covered by PT Jasa Raharja.

Yefrri Hendri said the disaster that occurred on Wednesday afternoon at the Meulaboh Ferry Port, West Aceh Regency, which caused a truck transporting basic necessities to go to Simeulue Island, Aceh Province, was purely due to natural factors.

Based on the chronology received from the Captain of the Teluk Sinabang Ship, the truck had originally been on the ship and then got stuck due to the condition of the ship being hit by waves with a height of between 1.5 meters to 2.5 meters.

As a result, the towing rope of the ship's truck broke so that the truck driven by Hardiman could not brake and backed away towards the ferry port pier.

Because the ship was getting hit by the waves and the truck could no longer move because it was stuck, then the truck was trying to be towed. However, due to natural factors, the truck fell into the sea.

Even so, Yefri Hendri emphasized that all losses suffered by truck owners will be fully handled by the insurance company, in this case PT Jasa Raharja Putra.

"Everything is covered by insurance, including trucks and truck drivers," he said.
