What Did KSAL Yudo Do While At The Pentagon?

JAKARTA - A number of military officials at the Pentagon warmly welcomed the visit of Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL) Admiral Yudo Margono and his entourage when they arrived at the US military headquarters in Virginia. Admiral Yudo has been visiting since March 27, 2022.

There the KSAL received a very extraordinary welcome so during his visit to the US he felt very honored and comfortable. Admiral Yudo met a number of top US Navy officials at the invitation of the Pentagon.

Starting from the Chief of Naval Operations/CNO United States (US), Admiral Mike Gilday, and US Secretary of the Navy (US SECNAV) Carlos Del Toro at the Pentagon, Washington, United States. Yudo also visited 2 AAL Cadets who are currently studying at the United States Naval Academy (USNA) Anapolis, Rhode Island.

His visit to Admiral Mike Gilday discussed the importance of cooperation between the two countries in dealing with issues of maritime security stability, regional and global security. KSAL expressed his appreciation to Admiral Mike Gilday for the cooperation that has been carried out and hopes that in the future it can improve the programs that are already running.

"I am grateful that in the field of Indonesian Navy training, the US Navy has always been invited to multilateral and bilateral exercises, with the hope that in the future it can always be involved in exercises that support the professionalism of Indonesian Navy soldiers and strengthen relations between the two parties, including the 2022 Rimpac activities in Hawaii," said the Navy Chief of Staff, released from the Indonesian Navy's official website, Tuesday, April 5.

Meanwhile, Admiral Mike Gilday realized that for more than 70 years, Indonesia had been a valuable partner. There has been a strong strategic partnership between Indonesia and the US.

"I am grateful for this long history of collaboration and training," said Admiral Mike Gilday.

US Secretary of the Navy (US SECNAV) Carlos Del Toro also expressed his gratitude when welcoming Kasal's visit to the Pentagon. He said he was happy with the relationship that had existed so far as a strategic partner in the maritime defense sector, being a country that was consistent in maintaining stability in the region. The United States is committed to continuing cooperation in education, training, and technology.

Carlos Del Toro expressed his gratitude to Indonesia for sending several personnel, mainly officers to be involved in training and education in the US.

Yudo promised to continue and enhance strategic cooperation with the US. The Indonesian Navy in joint exercises with the USMC, sent personnel experienced in operations.
