The Condition Of Sertu Eka's Son, A KKB Victim In Papua, Improves After Undergoing Surgery

SURABAYA - Director of the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Dr. Soetomo Surabaya Dr. Joni Wahyuhadi said the condition of Elvano Putra Faeyza, son of Sertuary Eka Andriyanto Hasugian, a shooting victim in Papua, has improved after undergoing debridement surgery.

"Debridement is an operation to examine wounds, to remove dead tissue. We also implant skin on the severed finger, hopefully it will live and cover the wound on the finger," he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 5.

"If you look at his condition, it is quite good. It is not possible to predict how long it will take (he will recover), but we will evaluate the seventh and 14th day of how his condition will be," he added.

Elvano Putra Faeyza is the second child of Sertu Eka Andriyanto Hasugian, a village supervisor at the Ramil Elelim Post who died after being shot by members of the armed criminal group (KKB) in Yalimo Regency, Papua Province, on Thursday (31/3).

The attack also left Sertu Eka's wife, Sri Lestari Indah Putri, injured and later died and their two children were injured.

Elvano, son of Sergeant Eka who is undergoing treatment at RSUD dr. Soetomo, is still undergoing treatment under the supervision of a doctor.

According to dr. Joni, Elvano are being treated in the Special Isolation Room at the Dr. Soetomo Surabaya due to COVID-19.

"Hopefully if COVID-19 is good we can move it," he said.

Army Chief of Staff General TNI Dudung Abdurachman while visiting Sertu Eka's son at Dr. Hospital. Soetomo Surabaya on Monday (4/4) night hoped that Elvano would recover soon.

"His condition is good so it's still COVID-19, but the CT is good. Conditions have improved, hopefully in a few days it will return," he said.

He said the TNI Army would provide scholarships to Sertu Eka Andrianto Hasugian's children until they went to college and got jobs.

In addition, he ordered the Commander of the Regional Military Command and his staff to arrest the perpetrators of the shooting of Sertu Eka.

"I have ordered the Military Commander to pursue until the perpetrators are found. Soldiers must also remain vigilant, maintain preparedness, increase security and protect the people. Apart from that, carry out security patrols as usual, don't hesitate to face the KKB," he said.
