Four Youths Arrested By Police In Cipayung, East Jakarta Not Recognizing Bows Found By Police At The Arrest Location

JAKARTA - Members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cipayung Police have arrested four underage teenagers while they were gathering to conduct a brawl on Jalan SPG 7, Lubang Buaya Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta, Monday, April 4, evening.

Cipayung Police Chief Kompol Bambang Cipto confirmed the arrests made by members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cipayung Police. The arrest was a form of anticipation of a juvenile brawl in the Cipayung area.

Police Commissioner Bambang explained that the arrests began with a buser patrol who was anticipating a brawl in the Cipayung area.

"Initially there were a lot of children gathered together. Then Buser raided and scattered. Four of them were arrested by Buser. When arrested, the four admitted that they wanted to fight," said Kompol Bambang when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, April 5, afternoon.

The police chief confirmed that the four perpetrators who were arrested were local residents. They gathered feared to find enemies to do brawls.

"They are local residents, they are waiting to find enemies. Because according to the order of the Regional Police Chief, disband the youth gatherings," he said.

When secured, members of the Criminal Investigation Department conducted a sweep around the youth group's gathering place. The police also found sharp weapons and arrows along with bows that were tucked into the fence around the graveyard about 15 meters from where the teenagers had gathered.

"Arrow weapons were found around the graves, no one has yet acknowledged who the weapons belonged to. The four teenagers who were detained had nothing to do with the sharp weapons, arrows and bows," said Kompol Bambang.

The teenagers were secured to the Cipayung Police for further data collection. Data collection is carried out to identify the perpetrators of brawls if other street crimes occur.

"They are recorded and identified only. Because the sharp weapons and arrows are not yet known to whom it belongs," said Kompol Bambang.
