KEPRI - Riau Islands Police (Kepri) formed a Cooking Oil Supervision Task Force. His job is to check the availability, production and distribution of cooking oil in every region in Riau Islands.

The Head of the Riau Islands Regional Police, Inspector General of Police Aris Budiman said that the task force involved work units from intelligence, special crimes, general crimes, and the Air and Air Police.

"Don't let there be obstacles, especially at this time our brothers and sisters are carrying out the Ramadan worship," said Budiman, in Batam, Riau Islands, Tuesday, April 5.

Budiman said the formation of the Cooking Oil Supervision Task Force was in accordance with the instructions of the Indonesian National Police Chief, Police General Listyo S Prabowo, regarding the anticipation of a shortage of cooking oil in the market.

He conveyed that the task force would monitor and check every point that could be a potential violation, so that the distribution of cooking oil runs smoothly to meet the needs of the community.

The task force also ensures the availability of bulk cooking oil for the community, and for distribution, stickers are given, making it easier to supervise distributors.

"Also carry out surveillance at certain gates and if there is a violation, law enforcement is one of the options," he said.

He continued, he appealed to distributors to modern and traditional retail traders to sell cooking oil according to the highest retail price set by the government.

The police will not hesitate to take firm action against the perpetrators who are proven to have manipulated the stock and price of cooking oil in the market. "According to the direction of the National Police Chief, strict action will be taken," he emphasized.

In addition to cooking oil, the Riau Islands Police are also committed to overseeing the availability and stability of the community's basic food prices during the month of Ramadan until Idul Fitri 1443 Hijriah.
