DKI-Jabar Cooperation Cooking Oil Factory In Purwakarta Targeted For Completion In 2024

JAKARTA - In the midst of rising food prices, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the Regional Owned Enterprise (BUMD) PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya plans to build a cooking oil factory.

However, the construction of this cooking oil factory was not carried out by DKI alone. The Managing Director of Food Station, Pamrihadi Wirayo said that his party would cooperate with BUMD Argo Jabar.

Currently, the plan to build a cooking oil factory is only in the exploratory stage between the Food Station and the BUMD belonging to the West Java Provincial Government.

"We are currently exploring a cooperation plan. I just met with the President Director of Argo Jabar. This is a long process. After the assessment, we will conduct an internal study, then a study with a third party," said Pamrihadi when contacted, Tuesday, April 5.

From the initial assessment, Pamrihadi said that a cooking oil factory would be built in Purwakarta, West Java. The location of this factory is an offer from Argo Jabar. Given, the existing land in Jakarta is limited to build a new factory.

Meanwhile, the construction of the factory is targeted to run for 2 years. It is estimated that the factory will be completed in 2024. "The refinery (refining) plant will take 2 years. This means that the target is to reach 2024," said Pamrihadi.

Furthermore, Pamrihadi explained the reason his party plans to build a cooking oil factory. In the future, the DKI Provincial Government is targeting a food self-sufficiency. Therefore, this regional-owned company is expected to become a food producer, especially cooking oil which is now difficult to reach at low prices.

"The goal is for DKI to be involved in the distribution. The Food Station will become a producer, right. We will get a direct source of cooking oil," he said.
