During Ramadan Fasting, Riau Islands COVID-19 Task Force Advise Muslims To Choose Booster Vaccinations In The Morning

JAKARTA - The Riau Islands Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force advises Muslims who are fasting to take the third or booster dose of vaccination in the morning.

"In the morning the body is still fresh because the time between suhoor and morning is close so that the body is still strong and fit", said the spokesman for the Riau Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Tjetjep Yudiana, quoted by Antara, Sunday, April 3.

The former head of the Riau Islands Health Service added that the body of Muslims is still adapting to the first day of fasting, so it is better to vaccinate in the morning.

"Another reason why Muslims who are fasting should vaccinate in the morning, because in the afternoon or evening the body may be a bit weak after hours of holding back hunger and thirst", he said.

Tjetjep explained that all residents were checked by health workers before vaccination. Vaccination participants with weak bodies may not be able to get the vaccine because the vaccine will have a negative impact on their health.

"Health workers have medical reasons why they refuse to inject vaccines into people's bodies", he said.

Since the government has made booster vaccination a requirement for international and domestic travelers without an antigen or PCR test, thousands of citizens take the third vaccination every day at several vaccination posts in the Riau Islands.

Vaccination officers apply a queue system for vaccine participants. This queuing system is implemented so that the vaccination process runs smoothly.

People who come in the morning get the third dose of the vaccine faster.

The achievement of the third dose of vaccination in the Riau Islands until early April 2022 was 414,412 people or 30.17 percent.

"There has been a significant increase in the number of people who have received the third vaccination in the last three weeks", he said.
