DPR: It's Not Just PKI Descendants, The General Public Who Wants To Register For The TNI Must Be Scrutinized

JAKARTA - Member of Commission I of the DPR RI from the Golkar faction, Dave Akbarshah Laksono, said the decision by the TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa to allow descendants of the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI) to register for the selection of TNI soldiers was an affirmation of MPRS Decree Number 25 of 1966.

Where, said Dave, the MPRS TAP only declared the PKI a banned organization in Indonesia. He said that there was no clause that the descendants of the PKI were prohibited from becoming employees or soldiers.

"(In the MPRS TAP) there is no description of the descendants of the PKI. Currently they are the 3rd generation or maybe the 4th generation involved from the G30SPKI," said Dave in his statement, Friday, April 1.

Even so, the General Chairman of Kosgoro 1957 reminded the government that it must conduct special research on all prospective TNI soldiers. Not only the descendants of the PKI, but also the general public.

"So the government can conduct internal research, not only in areas suspected of being PKI descendants, but also all the general public who want to register for TNI/Polri ASN," said Dave.

According to Dave, what is meant by special research is to find out the background of the prospective TNI soldier, his political views, and also his ideology.

Did Dave add, he has an ideology that is prohibited by the government. In particular, radicalism. "Understand radicalism as well. This is the duty and responsibility of the government, so that no government agency is exposed to the notion that is prohibited," concluded Dave.
