Update On COVID-19 As Of September 29: New 4,002 Cases, Accumulated 282,724 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 37,158 specimens were examined today with the results of 4,002 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 282,724 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Tuesday, September 29.

Today's cases increased by 3,567, so that a total of 210,437 people recovered. Then, 128 positive confirmed cases died and a total of 10,601 people.

The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1,238 new cases and a total of 72,577 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java which has 316 new cases with a total of 21,759 cases. East Java has 276 new cases and a total of 43,450 cases. Central Java has 275 new cases and a total of 22,205 cases. Then, West Sumatra has 254 new cases and a total of 6,180 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,118 recovered cases. Followed by South Sulawesi with an increase of 463 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 385 recovered cases, and Central Java with an increase of 260 recovered cases.

Then, there is 1 province that reported no new cases today. The province is Papua.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined reached 3,276,402. In detail, 3,224,227 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 52,175 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.4 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was 132,496 people. At present, 497 districts / cities from 34 provinces have had COVID-19 cases.
