PAPUA - The Yalimo Police are still investigating the shooting and assault that killed a member of the Ramil Elelim Post, First Sergeant Eka Andrianto, and his wife, Sri Lestari, who works as a health worker.

"It is true that members of the Yalimo Police are investigating the death of a couple who was shot and abused. It is not clear who the perpetrators of the attack were who also injured the finger of the second child," said Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Fakhiri in Jayapura, Antara, Thursday, March 31.

The Kapolda also ordered the General Criminal Directorate of the Papuan Police to send investigators to Elelim to assist the Yalimo Police in uncovering the case. As to which group is involved, this two-star general cannot be sure. "We are still waiting for the results of the investigation conducted by the members."

The same thing was stated by the Commander of Korem 172/PWY, Brigadier General Izak Pangemanan. The shooting and murder cases that killed the TNI AD soldier and his wife will be investigated.

"The husband and wife have served in Elelim for a long time and are reported to be getting along well with local residents," Pangemanan said.

The incident occurred when Sergeant Eka and his family lived in the kiosk where their business was located.

"Currently their bodies are still buried at the Kodim 1702/Jayawijaya Headquarters in Wamena because they cannot be moved to Sentani from Elelim due to unfriendly weather," Pangemanan said.
