Forensic Doctor Calls Life Chance Of Handi Saputra, Collision Victim In Nagrek Besar If Colonel Priyanto Doesn't Throw It Away

JAKARTA - Handi Saputra's chances of survival are great if he is not dumped into the Serayu River by Colonel Infantry Priyanto.

This was conveyed by the Forensic Doctor of RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo dr. Muhammad Zaenuri Syamsu Hidayat at the High Military Court II, Jakarta, Thursday, March 31.

The reason is that the two victims of the collision, Handi Saputra and Salsabila, were still alive after being hit in Nagreg, West Java, on December 8, 2021. Their lives should have been saved by the perpetrators of the collision, Colonel Priyanto, Kopda Andreas Dwi Atmoko, and Koptu Ahmad Soleh.

"(Victim Handi) had a linear fracture (in the head). People (who) had a brain hemorrhage were just waiting for a long process to die, moreover this was only a linear fracture, if he is quickly helped (his life) can be saved," said Zaenuri when met in court after testify as an expert at the trial, reported by Antara.

Zaenuri, who autopsied Handi's body two days after the victim was found by residents in the Serayu River, said that there were bruises and wounds on the head and fractures in the skull.

To the panel of judges led by Brigadier General Faridah Faisal, he conveyed that the wounds and bruises were the result of a blunt object hitting a broad and hard object. However, the injuries and cracks caused by the collision were not the cause of Handi's death.

The results of the autopsy held at Prof. Hospital. Dr. Margono Soekarjo, Purwokerto, Central Java, on December 13, 2021, showed that Handi died not because of an accident, but because he drowned in an unconscious state after being dumped by Colonel Priyanto into the Serayu River.

Evidence that supports this conclusion, including the presence of water in Handi's lungs. The water content in the lungs shows that Handi was dumped into the Serayu River in an unconscious state so that the water directly entered the respiratory tract.

"The cause of death was drowning. However, drowning was in an unconscious state," said Zaenuri.

If the victim was conscious, said Zaenuri, water was also found in the stomach. Meanwhile, if the victim drowns in the river in a state of death, water is not found in the stomach and lungs. However, the forensic doctor Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo was not able to determine the time of death.

"Because it's already decayed (after being transported from the water, ed.), I don't dare say how many days," said Zaenuri.

During the trial, he also admitted that he did not know that the autopsied body was the victim of a collision in Nagreg. Identification of Handi's identity is done by making a facial profile from the shape of the teeth and matching it with a photo provided by investigators from the police.

Handi's identity was only known by the police and forensic doctors 4 days after the autopsy was held. The High Military Court II, Jakarta, again held a trial in the murder case with the defendant Colonel Priyanto, Thursday. In the trial, only one expert was presented, namely a forensic doctor.

Jakarta High Military Auditor II who became the public prosecutor during the trial, Colonel Sus Wirdel Boy, said that there were still six witnesses who would be presented to the trial.

"The six people are all fact witnesses," said Wirdel.

Chief Justice Brigadier General Faridah, who is currently Head of the Jakarta High Military Court II, has scheduled the trial to continue on Thursday, April 7, next week.
