Free From Prison For Drugs, French Caucasians Deported From Bali

BADUNG - Bali immigration officers deported a French foreigner, Rayan Jawad Henri Bitar (31). This French Caucasian was previously imprisoned for methamphetamine and possession of firearms.

Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum HAM) Bali, Jamaruli Manihuruk explained that the French foreigner was deported for violating Article 48 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration in conjunction with Article 127 paragraph (1) of the Narcotics Law in conjunction with Article 1 paragraph (1) Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951.

"After the person concerned is released from the correctional facility for the criminal violation the residence permit in question is no longer valid," said Jamaruli, Wednesday, March 30.

In the provisions of Article 48 paragraph (1) of the Immigration Law, it is stated that every foreigner residing in the territory of Indonesia is required to have a residence permit.

"So, in this case, immigration takes immigration administrative actions in the form of deportation to the person concerned after he has been proven to have committed an immigration violation in Article 48 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning immigration," said Jamaruli.

This French Caucasian was arrested by the Bali Police team in December 2020 for methamphetamine and firearms and ammunition

"Then, for his actions, he was found guilty, according to the decision of the Denpasar District Court (PN) Number 240/PID.SUS/2011/PN DPS dated June 16, 2011 and sentenced to one year and four months in prison," said Jamaruli.

After serving his main criminal term, based on Release Letter Number W20.EBN-PK.05.12-424 dated March 24, 2022, this French Caucasian was freed from the Bangli Narcotics Class IIA Prison and handed over to the Class I Immigration Office (Kanim) TPI Denpasar.

Under the control of officers, this French foreigner was deported using Scoot Airlines TR285 on the Denpasar-Singapore route to continue his flight to France.
