Riau Provincial Government Allocates Rp13 Billion Social Assistance For Underprivileged Students

RIAU - The Riau Provincial Government (Pemprov) has allocated a budget of Rp13 billion for the Social Assistance Program (Bansos) for Students from Poor Families in all districts and cities throughout Riau during 2022.

"Education assistance is given to people who experience social risks, while the social assistance can be given in the form of money or goods," said Head of the People's Welfare Bureau (Kesra) of the Riau Regional Secretariat, Zulkifli Syukur, in Pekanbaru, Antara, Wednesday, March 30.

He said that the management of social assistance is regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Permendagri) Number 77 of 2020. Based on the Permendagri, the social assistance provider is a work unit at a ministry or agency in the central government and/or a regional work unit in the regional government whose duties and functions carry out the program. poverty alleviation which includes social protection and others.

"Therefore, the budget for the social assistance for underprivileged students in 2022 has been prepared for a budget of Rp. 13 billion. This social assistance for underprivileged students is a 2021 proposal for 2022," he said.

To realize the disbursement of the social assistance, a total of 3,000 proposals have been submitted and are currently being verified and validated by the team.

He explained that receiving social assistance for underprivileged students in 2022 must be registered in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) according to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Rdaran Letter.

"The policy was carried out because it has become the attention of the KPK that the provision of social assistance must use DTKS, then the Riau Provincial Government's educational assistance for underprivileged students must also follow the applicable rules and meet the expectations of the Governor of Riau, Mr. Syamsuar that in alleviating poverty, the assistance distributed must be on target and must according to DTKS," he said.
