JAKARTA - The National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that the acceleration of vaccination is an important thing to do at this time. The acceleration of vaccination is also related to the government's policy of no restrictions during Ramadan.

This statement was made by the National Police Chief when reviewing the acceleration of vaccination with community elements at the Trisakti University Sports Center, Jakarta.

"Our target today is to carry out a combined simultaneous vaccination with 34 regions or provinces, hopefully we can reach a minimum of 1,129,668. So why is this important, because we know that we are currently entering the month of Ramadan and the government has announced that activities in the month of Ramadan are carried out normally," said Sigit in his statement, Tuesday, March 29.

Acceleration of vaccination is also held simultaneously at 5,225 points in 34 provinces throughout Indonesia.

The government's decision to normalize community activities, continued Sigit, was to optimize vaccination acceleration for doses I, II, and III. That way it can increase immunity or even the community's immunity to the COVID-19 virus.

"Therefore, facing the month of Ramadan, I ask for accelerated vaccination to continue to be increased, especially the third booster vaccine. So that during a series of activities in the month of Ramadan, halabihalal activities, homecoming activities, all of them really have immunity," said Listyo.

"So, of course, we encourage how we can speed up the booster vaccine. So that our people get immunity at least 90 percent and we must continue to do this," he continued.

In addition, the National Police Chief also highlighted the group of people who fall into the category of elderly (elderly) regarding the completeness of vaccinations, both dose II and booster. Because, during Ramadan and Eid, there will be a momentum for going home.

This moment has the potential to cause the spread of COVID-19. Therefore, vaccination is very important as a preventive measure.

"So this year we hope that we can control the rate of COVID-19. Because this will have a very big impact on future community activities. Of course it will have an impact on economic growth which we hope we can continue to keep above five. And this is of course very important for the development of Indonesia. , said the Chief of Police.
