South Sumatra Police Wait For Ballistic Test Results Bullet Kills Bripda MS To Reveal The Perpetrator Of The Shooting

PALEMBANG - The Regional Police (Polda) of South Sumatra (Sumsel) are still waiting for the results of the ballistics test of the forensic laboratory on the bullet projectiles from the firearm that killed Bripda MS (22).

The ballistics test is one of the police's efforts to uncover the perpetrators of the shooting of the member of the Ogan Komering Ulu Timur (OKUT) Police Operational Unit, while on duty in an operation to ambush criminals in the Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) Regency area on Friday (25/3). .

"From the ballistic test, it can be clearly identified the type of projectile bullet that injured the victim's chest," said Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police Kombes Supriadi in Palembang, quoted by Antara, Monday, March 28.

While waiting for the results of the ballistic test, according to Supriadi, currently a joint team deployed by the South Sumatra Police consisting of the OKI Police, OKUT Police, and Ditreskrimum since Friday (25/3), has continued to investigate by examining witnesses and suspect A.

A is a DPO suspect in the theft and weighting of a modern retail store in Gumawang Village, Belitang I District, OKUT Regency who was successfully arrested by the OKUT Police Satreskrim Opsnal team in the raid operation.

From the investigation process, he said, the joint team had already pocketed the identities of about 15 colleagues of suspect A who were said to be at the location when the raid took place.

"The 15 were revealed from the confession of suspect A and a number of residents who have been questioned as witnesses. They are currently being pursued to be investigated later related to the shooting incident, "he said.

The shooting incident occurred when Bripda MS (22) together with the OKUT Police Satreskrim Opsnal team received information that suspect A was hiding in the OKI Regency area.

With this information, they carried out an ambush operation to the hideout of suspect A.

Bripda MS was injured by a shot in the middle of his chest, then he was rushed to the Kayuagung Regional General Hospital for medical treatment, but could not be saved on Friday (25/3) afternoon at around 10.00 WIB.

Then the body of Bripda MS was taken to the Bhayangkara M Hasan Hospital in Palembang for an examination by a forensic doctor.

After that, the victim was buried by police officers led by the OKUT Police Chief, at the Sukadana TPU, Kayuagung, OKI Regency on Friday (25/3) night, and was given a promotion to the rank of First Brigadier (posthumous) as a sign of honor for his services.
