BOGOR - The Bogor City Government, West Java revealed that as many as six brands of packaged cooking oil are available in abundance in modern retail stores with prices that are still high ahead of Ramadan.

Head of the Division of Domestic Trade Development, Consumer Protection and Orderly Commerce of the Bogor City Cooperative, SME, Trade and Industry Office, Mohamad Soleh said that the availability of packaged cooking oil now tends to be only abundantly available in retail stores, while in traditional markets it is very limited.

Soleh mentioned six brands of packaged cooking oil available in the city of Bogor, namely Sania, Fortune, Sunco, Tropical, Resto and Hemart.

The six brands have varied prices, starting with the lowest price, namely Resto at Rp. 24,000 per liter and Rp. 47,000 per two liters. Then there is Sania in regular packaging and Hemart in bottles for Rp. 25,000 per liter and Rp. 48,000 per two liters.

Meanwhile, Fortune only issued two-liter packages for IDR 48,000 and Tropical for IDR 50,000 per two liters. Then the highest is Sunco at IDR 54,000 per two liters.

"Most of the six brands are in retail, for people who can afford it can buy packaged cooking oil because the stock is available. In traditional markets, if there is, usually the Resto brand is the result of our monitoring," he explained.

Meanwhile, according to ANTARA's observations at the Jogya Juction Modern Store, Jalan Sudirman, Pabaton Village, Central Bogor District, Bogor City, on Monday (28/3), cooking oil shelves were filled with stocks of various brands.
