The Volume Of Vehicles In The City Of Bogor Increases Ahead Of Ramadan

BOGOR – From Saturday, March 26 to Sunday, March 27, the Head of Traffic Unit of the Bogor City Police, AKP Galih Apria, reported as many as 60 thousand vehicles, both motorbikes and cars, filled the city of Bogor. This increase in vehicle volume occurred ahead of Ramadan 1443 Hijri/2022 which fell in early April.

AKP Galih said that vehicle traffic ahead of Ramadan this time was indeed starting to increase compared to normal weekends during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022.

"We are in the field, this Saturday-Sunday the density of vehicles is not like the usual holidays," said Galih, quoted from Antara, Sunday, March 27.

Facing the rapid speed of vehicles, the Bogor City Police dispatched as many as 85 Satlantas personnel and staff to guard traffic density points through loyalty meetings.

The density points that were observed were crowded to the point of accumulation of vehicles, including the culinary tourism center in the East Bogor District in the BMC Hospital Range to the Bantar Kemang T-junction and Jalan Raya Pajajaran.

In Central Bogor District, during the day vehicles are also crowded around gate 1 of the Bogor Botanical Gardens, which is a favorite garden tour for Jabodetabek residents.

Not only tourist attractions, continued Galih, the one-way system (SSA) route along Jalan Pajajaran towards Jalan Otista to return to Jalan Pajajaran is also quite dense with vehicles.

In the East Bogor District, the Sukasari T-junction also experiences a bit of congestion during the afternoon and evening, so the Bogor City Police Traffic Unit breaks down the vehicles or crowd free road situationally.

Tens of thousands of vehicles were going back and forth in the city of Bogor for two days, although without causing long traffic jams using the crowd free road method. This is because officers have been on standby at crowded points.

"It's really quite congested, but it has been managed to break down, the enthusiasm of the residents for Ramadan this time is enough to enliven the highway," he said.

Galih added that traffic on all roads in the six sub-districts of the rainy city had returned to normal since 18.00 WIB.
