Garut Health Office Picks Up The Ball, Ready For General Vaccination And Santri During Ramadan 2022

GARUT - Acceleration of COVID-19 vaccination in Garut will continue to be carried out during Ramadan 2022. The Garut Regency Health Office (Dinkes) admits that it is ready to deploy a vaccination team for the public, including in Islamic boarding schools.

"We're still trying, if not vaccine during the day can be at night," said Secretary of the Garut District Health Office Leli Yuliani when contacted by reporters in Garut, Friday, March 25.

He said the vaccinator team in the field was still moving to accelerate the increase in the achievement of COVID-19 vaccination for all people in Garut ahead of Ramadan.

According to him, during Ramadan, the enthusiasm level of the community for getting vaccinated will decrease because they are fasting.

Another effort so that vaccination can still be carried out, he said, the health team from the local health center is ready to provide vaccination services at night.

"That's seeing the community's situation, if there are people who ask for the night, we will give it," said Leli.

In addition to the general public, he said, Islamic boarding schools who want to be vaccinated with doses 1, 2, or 3 during Ramadan will be ready to be served by a team of vaccinators.

"It can be (vaccinated) if they (Islamic boarding schools) are willing," he said.

He said the achievement of COVID-19 vaccination for dose 1 was above 90 percent, currently it will continue to be boosted at dose 2, then dose 3 or booster which is currently still low at 4.8 percent.

"It is prioritized to start to 'booster' if indeed dose 2 is more than 70 percent," he said.

One of the Islamic boarding schools in Garut that carries out mass vaccinations before Ramadan is the Nurul Huda Cibojong Islamic Boarding School in Cisurupan District, Garut, on Thursday, March 24.

A number of students and female students, teachers, and kiai from Islamic boarding schools in Cisurupan District received the COVID-19 vaccine for doses 1, 2, or 3 or boosters.

The vaccination at the Islamic boarding school was organized by the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board which was attended by Rais Aam Miftachul Akhyar PBNU and PBNU Chairman Ning Alisa Wahid.
