JAKARTA - Deputy Governor Andika Hazrumy explained that the Banten Provincial Government was ranked third nationally as a provincial government that spends APBD on domestic products in the 2022 fiscal year.

Overall, Banten's APBD this year allocated for the purchase of domestic products, especially MSME products, amounted to Rp. 2.3 trillion.

"Alhamdulillah, the city is committed to the direction of the President regarding the purchase of domestic products, and it is proven by us being in the third national rank of the provincial government with the highest spending on domestic products from 34 provinces," Andika said in a press statement after attending the Affirmation Action for Proud of Artificial Products. Domestic Affairs in Bali, Friday, March 25, reported by Antara.

In the event with the main agenda of directing from the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, Andika was accompanied by the Head of the Industry and Trade Office Babar Suharso and the Head of Cooperatives and SMEs Agus Mintono.

The Banten Provincial Government is in line with President Jokowi's directive so that the government, including local governments, BUMN, BUMD and other state institutions, spends their budget on domestic products, especially MSME products.

"We have delegated this commitment to be maintained by the OPD within the Banten Provincial Government," said Andika.

The Head of the Industry and Trade Office, Babar Suharso, added that President Jokowi gave appreciation from the central government at the event to local governments who were considered to have a commitment to spend the APBD on domestic products.

"Banten Provincial Government itself in this year's APBD spending on domestic products reached Rp. 2.3 trillion or ranked third behind DKI Jakarta and East Java," Babar said.

According to Babar, the Banten Provincial Government has projected the priority of regional spending in the 2022 budget for domestic products in accordance with President Jokowi's directives through Presidential Instruction 2/2009 concerning the Use of Domestic Products in Government Procurement of Goods/Services. Specifically, he continued, the President's directive was followed up with the formation of a Domestic Product Improvement Team (TPPDN) in each government unit.

"In the Banten Provincial Government, I happened to be entrusted by the Governor as the Chair of the TPPDN, who ensures that all OPDs optimize their budgets for domestic products," Babar said.

Previously in his directive, President Jokowi encouraged Ministries and Institutions to regional heads to use products from within the country. Jokowi emphasized that he would check the goods and services procurement program of each institution.

According to the President, if the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN), the Revenue and Regional Budget and the BUMN budget are for spending on locally made goods, it can encourage economic growth. This is because various countries are currently facing economic difficulties, including Indonesia.
