2 People Died Due To Truck Entering A Gorge In Wonosobo, Allegedly The Problem Is In Rem

JAKARTA - A tronton truck fell into a ravine on the Temanggung-Wonosobo route in Prumbanan Hamlet, Purwojati Village, Kertek, Wonosobo, Central Java. Two people died.

The Head of Traffic at the Wonosobo Police, AKP Sugito, explained that two victims died in the accident, namely truck driver Abadi (34), a resident of Sumberagung Village, Pancur District, Rembang Regency and a passenger whose identity has not been identified.

The tronton truck with the police number AG 9725 UT which was involved in the accident belonged to PT Airmas Transport with the address Jalan Captain Kasihin Number 70, Plandaan Village, Kedungwaru District, Tulungagung Regency, East Java.

Sugito conveyed the chronology of the incident when the tronton truck loaded with phonska fertilizer drove from the direction of Parakan Temanggung to the direction of Kertek Wonosobo. In the middle of the road, the truck drove out of control until it fell into a ravine on the right side of the road.

"It happened when the truck passed down the road and turned to the left, it is suspected that the brakes did not work so the vehicle went out of control and fell into a 20-meter-deep ravine," he said.

He said that they are still investigating the accident.

A number of members of the SAR team managed to evacuate two victims, then evacuated to the hospital. The wreck of the tronton truck as of Friday afternoon was still at the bottom of the ravine.
