JAKARTA - As many as 613 online and base motorcycle taxi drivers were found to have committed violations during the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB). This is based on data from the South Jakarta Transportation Agency (Sub-Department of Transportation).

Head of South Jakarta Sub-dept. Of Transportation, Budi Setiawan, said that his party has routinely carried out patrols in each sub-district to monitor crowds of online motorcycle taxis and base motorcycle taxis since the implementation of the PSBB on September 14.

"Indeed, there are still many violations that have gathered more than five people," Budi told reporters as reported by Antara, Jakarta, Friday, September 25.

For one week, an evaluation of the results of supervision was carried out by the ranks of the South Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency.

From the results of the evaluation, there are nine locations where online motorcycle taxi drivers often gather, such as stations, terminals, markets, bus stops, offices, malls, roads, shop houses and apartments.

"In South Jakarta, out of 10 sub-districts, only one district has no violations, namely Pancoran District," he said.

He mentioned, 613 violations were found during the surveillance which was carried out from 14-23 September 2020 at 368 prosecution locations.

When prosecution was carried out by dismissing and giving a warning, the online motorcycle taxi drivers and bases gave various reasons, even though they already knew the rules for not crowding during the PSBB.

"The reason is resting and waiting for passengers," said Budi.

Budi added that his party continues to conduct patrols to monitor the presence of online and base motorcycle taxi drivers at the sub-district level to the city level along with the extension of the UN period until 11 October 2020.
