Update On COVID-19 Per September 24: More Records, New Cases Add 4,634

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 42,564 specimens were examined with the results of 4,634 new positive cases of COVID-19.

Today, the number of cases has reached a new record, after previously having the highest number of new cases, namely 4,465 cases on September 23 and 4,176 on September 21.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 262,022 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Thursday, September 24.

Today's cases increased by 3,895, so that a total of 191,853 people recovered. Then, 128 confirmed positive cases died and a total of 10,105 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1,044 new cases and a total of 66,731 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java which has 804 new cases with a total of 19,397 cases. Central Java has 434 new cases and a total of 20,673 cases. East Java has 343 new cases and a total of 42,098 cases. Then, West Sumatra has 302 new cases and a total of 5,155 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,154 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an increase of 689 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 431 recovered cases, and West Java with an increase of 249 recovered cases.

Then, there are 3 provinces that reported having no new cases today. The provinces are Maluku, West Papua and Gorontalo.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined reached 3,074,814. In detail, 3,024,281 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 50,533 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.3 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 110,910 people. Currently, 494 districts / cities out of 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
